Jack

Picture
Jack Bersner. He’s always been an interesting character to me. He didn’t start out as Allisen’s friend, back when she first met him in sixth grade. But how about in seventh grade?

Personally, I find Jack to be another example of a good friend, along with Kim and Shevea. In Book #14, “Freaky Friendships”, he’s concerned that Allisen is spending time with the Suzy Q’s, so he talks to her about it. He isn’t pushy or rude, and he doesn’t make any sorts of threats or bribes. He just explains why he thinks the Suzy Q’s aren’t the best people to hang around with, and lets Allisen make her own decision.

In Book #16, “Many Miracles”, Jack steps up to the plate and helps out when asked. In Book #18, “Happy Hearts”, he apologizes for the mistake he made, and is understanding about why Allisen was avoiding him. He and Allisen aren’t close friends the way Allisen, Kim, and Shevea are, but he is a loyal friend to her nonetheless.
