A Night In The Forest
The bright stars are twinkling; the church bells have rung.
Softly and sweetly, the bird songs are sung.
Like a baby at naptime, the fox is asleep;
He's waiting for later, he's dreaming of sheep.
Raccoon takes a hop out onto the grass.
His mom pulls him back until danger has passed.
An owl swoops by, searching for mice
As Old Maple Tree's fingers smell sweetly of spice.
The wind gently rustles the forest's green floor,
Baby bat stands prepared, waiting for more.
As the sun rises slowly and the moon journeys west,
They all get settled for another day's rest.

New
Here I am
Draped in clothes of softest green
Protection from the world around
Unfolding
My face turned to the sun
Stretching to embrace it
The sweet fresh brush of air
Alive
I'm growing
Surrounded by thousands like myself
Vibrant, brilliant, thriving
Wild
Draped in clothes of softest green
Protection from the world around
Unfolding
My face turned to the sun
Stretching to embrace it
The sweet fresh brush of air
Alive
I'm growing
Surrounded by thousands like myself
Vibrant, brilliant, thriving
Wild
Blizzard
Thick, white flurries
Cast by Winter’s hand
Hastily chasing down
Like an hourglass’s sand
Snow as bright as whiteness
Sky as white as snow
Branches shaking, shivering, breaking
Falling to ground below
The watery sun, in valiant struggle
Stretches to break free
As the snow is getting thicker, quicker
Many waters freeze
God has given us the winter
This blurry blow of flakes
Not to think about downfalls
Or realize our mistakes
But to rejoice in every moment
And thank Him for His gifts
Marvel at His masterpiece
Of blizzardy, snowy drifts
And once the blizzard’s passed behind
And the sun breaks through at last
We see the sparkling, dazzling snow
Shinier than glass
Cast by Winter’s hand
Hastily chasing down
Like an hourglass’s sand
Snow as bright as whiteness
Sky as white as snow
Branches shaking, shivering, breaking
Falling to ground below
The watery sun, in valiant struggle
Stretches to break free

And once the blizzard’s passed behind
And the sun breaks through at last
We see the sparkling, dazzling snow
Shinier than glass
Peace
The cool waves lick my feet
Beneath a rainbow sky
The ocean reflects the colors above
God is here with me
As I stand on the beach
And enjoy His breathtaking masterpiece
His boundless love

Gentle Days
The gentle days
Of flecks of light
The greenery
And birds in flight
The wind blowing
River flowing
Fragrant flowers
Endless, peaceful hours
These gentle days
The warmth of sun
Animals’ chatter
Webs carefully spun
These gentle days
These gentle days
These happy, peaceful,
Love-filled gentle days
Of flecks of light
The greenery
And birds in flight
The wind blowing
River flowing
Fragrant flowers
Endless, peaceful hours
These gentle days
The warmth of sun
Animals’ chatter
Webs carefully spun
These gentle days
These gentle days
These happy, peaceful,
Love-filled gentle days
