Haranna Bell
In Book #31, “All of My Heart”, Allisen is excited to sign up for the pen pal program, and communicate with a girl from Bloomington, Indiana (PS: I picked that town because that’s where I’m originally from. Haranna and her siblings were people we “knew” from our imaginary school, The Fun House). When Allisen reads Haranna’s first letter, though, her initial reaction is, “No way! I’m not being pen pals with someone who was pretty much the female version of Pete at his very worst.”
As she reads the letter again, though, she realizes that although Haranna made some bad choices in the past, she isn’t like that anymore. Haranna is using what she has learned from her own past mistakes, along with her newfound faith, to encourage others. So Allisen decides to give Haranna a chance, and it turns out to be a good decision—Haranna ends up helping both Allisen and Pete.
People are constantly changing. Some changes are good, some are bad, and some are neutral. Look at the people around you. Do you see them for who they are now, or are you still perceiving them how they were a couple years ago?
