New friends everywhere I go. Relationships changing in exciting ways. Heartwrenching secrets, damaging rumors, and the volunteer experience of a lifetime. Welcome to my sophomore year of high school. Tenth grade was the year of questions—questions like, “Am I ready for a boyfriend?” and, “How can I be the best mentor possible?” Questions about what to do, who to trust, and most importantly, how to make a positive difference in the lives of people around me. I can’t say all my questions were answered. But I can say with confidence that I learned a lot.
